Communion and Authority is fundamental to the nature and presence of the Church. Communion is transcendentally with the Trinity and horizontally between members of the body of Christ. Theologically, the understanding and transmission of authority in the Church, has not always been coherent. Historically, political, economic, social and cultural factors have disfigured the understanding and practice of communion and authority in the Church. This book, basing on scriptural foundation, explores the development of communion and authority in the Roman Catholic Church and in the Anglican Communion. Within the background of the problems and difficulties existing between these two ‘communions’, the author advances an ecumenism of life, that is, journeying together, not apart, in the model, communion of communions. The pains of church disunity should urge every Christian to make the search for unity a priority.
